This course is designed for those who are interested in learning the basic rifle operations in order to excel in further training. During this 6-hour block of instruction, students will train on the following techniques:

Location: Holton Gun & Bow Club: 6201 E Crystal Lake Rd, Holton, MI 49425

Start Time: 8:00AM

End Time: Approximately 2:00PM

Carbine Level 1 (Mixed format of classroom and range):

  • Safety

  • Stances (Prone, Kneeling Standing)

  • Fundamentals of Marksmanship

    • Grip (Push Pull)

    • Breathing

    • Trigger Press

  • Zero (30 rounds)

  • Height Over Bore

  • Malfunctions

  • Dot Drill (30 rounds at 25, 50, and 100 yards)

Required Items:

  • Carbine/AK Platform Firearm

  • 150 Rounds of Factory Ammunition (Minimum)

  • 2 Magazines

  • Weapon Sling (No Single Point Slings)

  • Ear and Eye Protection

  • Gloves and Knee Pads (Optional)

Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 72 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 72 hours before the class may be rescheduled but not refunded. Scheduling is dependent upon availability.
